Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter (AE3000) Purchaser Reviews

I am by the AE2500 with a Cisco-Linksys E3000 High-Normal Wireless-N Router. Facility splendid and I have no complaints at all. As good as my before Ethernet tie. Easy set up disk. My guess is that the only additional Amazon assess (1 star) was due to a before Wireless USB Adapter not life by the book removed, and thus causing conflict with the AE2500. I have a Cisco-Linksys AE1000 High-Normal Wireless-N Adapter on a additional notebook, and this Adapter facility just as well on the same arrangement, at a cost of $10 less on Amazon.com.

This manufactured goods is the must have 5 Gigahertz wifi adapter. The setup disk is one click done install of driver. Be sure to install before installing adapter into USB slot. Also ensure you do not inadvertently connect to a 2.4 Gigahertz router in the household if you need 5 G-Hertz! Keep in mind 5 G-Hertz by definition will not give you a strong signal as 2.4, but nothing beats it in terms of interference issues using 2.4 routers. Many reviews here are complaining of any a weak signal or no signal. The no signal reviews are likely attributed to connecting to your 2.4 G-Hertz router (everywhere you have a lot of interference). The weaker signal reviews are likely attributed to the limitation of the 5 G-Hertz signal by definition. Keep in mind the 5 G-Hertz signals is not intended for any long interval as 2.4 G-Hertz devices go. The primary financial support of 5 G-Hertz is to bypass interference if you have strong issues with microwaves and cordless phones. The only downside will be your signal might. Please keep this in mind when presenting your Amazon reviews! Otherwise this is a splendid manufactured goods with 3 built in attennas!

Pros: - adapter functions great with our new Asus N66U router - USB tie: no fiddling almost surrounded by your notebook case - includes a stand and chord so you can get the mast away from the notebook - solid construction: feels well-built for such a small device - setup is a breezeCons: - A modest on the high-priced side, but you get what you pay forUnless you are on a very tight budget, I wouldn't hesitate to urge this adapter.

I purchased this adapter based on reviews of the product, however something else to consider is consumer support if things go ill-treat. I bought this new (not refurbished) and it did not work from the beginning. I was being paid .8Mbps throughput where my other wireless adapter gave me 9Mbps in the same exact location. I washed-out hours online trying to update drivers and find a key.I finally contacted technical support where they had me try a few things that did not work. the woman said it looked-for to be replaced. I had to hang up and call in trade for consumer support (she couldn't just connect me because they are outsourced). The woman i spar to this time said it wasn't documented that a substitution was right so asked me how just so I simplified the drivers. I explained just so. She gave me a new ticket number and again said I had to hang up and call consumer support. I did and again was told that it wasn't documented that a substitution was right (everything else was apparently documented, in cooperation calls). I did the tech support thing again and this time, they documented that a substitution was right. I called consumer support and was told that they would be sending me a refurbished element once i ship and they receive my defective adapter! I complained that I bought it new and it has by no means worked and that I should be given a new element. The woman didn't trouble, just said that was the policy, and including every complaint I made, i got the same response. that's their policy. So, if you want to buy a cisco-linksys product, go ahead but if it doesn't work, don't expect much support and definately do not expect a new substitution to your defective element.

To get optimum performance out of a Dual-Band Wireless-N router, you need to get Dual-Band Wireless-N adapters. Here are plenty of Wireless-N adapters out here, all of which swagger in this vicinity being up to the "newest ordinary" and donation "tremendous at approximately calculate ago" WiFi performance. Even if, if you be inflicted including a Dual-Band router, you are throttling your maximum tie alacrity not effective to no extra than 130 Mbps except you dissipate a modest extra and get the aptly rank of WiFi adapters. The Linksys AE3000 will do the job extremely water supply for an exceptional fee.Supply was out of the box, plugged in, installed and in succession in a cut-rate amount of than 5 outline. I did not use the CD including the intention of came including the adapter. I downloaded the contemporary driver software from the Linksys website and unzipped it on my tricky handbook. As I plugged in the adapter, I aimed at Windows to use these minutes to locate the apt driver. My logic happens to be inflicted including the 64-bit translation of Windows 7 Family Premium installed, so I chose this driver wrap from the website. The AE3000 at the initiation collectively on my D-Caution DIR-825 router's 2.4 GHz band at 130 Mbps, only be fond of an run of the mill Wireless-N adapter. I be inflicted including the router configured such including the intention of the SSID is "hidden" for better wellbeing, and the adapter may maybe not at the initiation "see" the 5 GHz band. I logged on to my router and for the interim set the SSID for the 5 GHz band to "noticeable," which allowable the AE3000 to dash it aptly dead. As I collectively this calculate - Wow! - I had a 300 Mbps tie. I experienced person file transfers linking numerous systems on my family arrangement and establish dramatically stuck-up speeds. This was only so what I was looking for. (By the way, I didn't not dredge up to log in trade on to the router and reset my 5 GHz band SSID to "hidden." This doesn't grant exact wellbeing by any rank, but every modest bit helps hostile to casual hackers.)Don't look for this adapter to automatically improve your web-surfing encounter. Your DSL or cable internet tie doubtless tops out at no extra than 20 Mbps, so a tie to your router closer than Wireless-G speeds of 54 Mbps will most liable get on to no noticeable alteration. The top at this calculate is to grasp closer connections linking the cleverness on your family arrangement. For mind, if you spill composition and/or record minutes from a desktop logic to a arrangement-competent Blu-Ray player (as I do,) closer tie speeds will get on to a BIG clear alteration. You may be inflicted including to conduct experiment including the dash of the adapter and/or the router's antennas to obtain the peak feature indicate might. Flush a slight twist in the angle of my router's craft's mast provided a 10% enhancement in indicate feature on the 5 GHz band tie. I establish including the intention of my tie alacrity stabilized at 300 Mbps as the indicate feature remained at in this vicinity 90%. (I be inflicted including asked my wife to dodge dusting on or almost my router for the foreseeable prospect!) Interestingly, I establish the 2.4 MHz band tie to be greatly a cut-rate amount of insightful in this constant style. I infer this is in check over of the fact including the intention of a cut-rate amount of facts is being transmitted.) Even if, flush as the indicate might dropped to 80%, my tie alacrity remained at in this vicinity 270 Mbps, which soothe isn't too bad.The key top is to configure your dual-band router so including the intention of the 5 GHz band is activated, and to log your water supply-matched adapter on to including the intention of band. The Linksys AE3000 adapter is an exceptional, practically priced extent including the intention of gets the job owing to. I greatly urge it!

Purchased this because the internal wireless card that came with my Gateway desktop didn't work by the book. And it's easier to buy a solution than to deal with their tech support. (1st and single Gateway product I will always purchase). The notebook is upstairs at other end of 5000 sq ft house starting link-sys 3000 router. Never gets less than 3-4 bars. Extremely easy installation on Windows 7 - literally promote and play after installation of software. Have used it for 2 months currently. Absolutely no problems. 100% satisfied.

Bought this dual band AE2500 adapter to replace my old release band adapter. Installation was instant and painless. Slot in CD, wait in anticipation of it tells you to promote inthe adapter, chose your arrangement and off you go. It probably didn't pocket me 30 seconds early the calculate I inserted the CD Rom drivers CD-ROM in anticipation of I was connected.I be inflicted with a Vizio Dual Band Router which is one of the Most excellent Bang for the Buck Dual Band Routers out here Btw. The AE2500 Found the routher without any issues. The only extent I had to get on to was at which frequency I sought after to connect. I be inflicted with tried in cooperation 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz and the 5ghz band was over 3 era as at approximately calculate ago vsthe 2.4ghz at least in my household. The notebook I connected it to is upstairs and the adapter still connected through several parapet and ceiling.By and large I am very fortunate with my purchase. We shall see if it will call up over the months to occur.

This contrivance drops internet tie from calculate to calculate and here is now no key. This is not a conundrum for all users, but here are practically a few who be inflicted including been tiresome extremely tricky to discover a key to no aim. Cisco is apathetic.

I read about the old model some bad things (heating, disconnecting, bad signal etc) so I was affraid to go for Linksys to upgrade my home wireless arrangement to N band, 5Ghz.The fact is I looked-for this adapter for my wife`s windows xp sp3 pad. She spends most of the day on internet, wireless. The space between the pad and linksys router is no more far than 4m, same room (no stairs or floors). Here are the consequences:1. Signal Strenght: between 385mbps - 450mbps2. Signal Stability: 100%3. Tie: 100%, never lost it.4. Love: warm to hot, but keeps effective with no failures5. Installation: I did very near not anything, just inserted CD and after 2 clicks, done. This is the new linksys router I bought together with this adapter: Linksys EA4500 App-Enabled N900 Dual-Band Wireless-N Router with Gigabit and USB.Family tree 100% happy ! :-)

I'm in the same boat as a additional assessor. I replaced my router with a Linksys AE2500, bought a new modem (Motorola Surfboard SB6120) and purchased a Linksys AE2500 adapter for my wife's pad upstairs. All about the setup is rock-solid apart from this AE1200.Intermittent connectivity issues. Unplugging and replugging fixes the issue, but this adapter just isn't worth the hassle. I would also note that I'm in succession Windows 7 (32bit) on a fresh bed in and the pad is only 10 feet from the adapter. There shouldn't be any issues.Spend the extra money for the AE2500. I'm having no issues with that.
