TRENDnet 32-Bit Gigabit Low Profile PCI Adapter, Retail (TEG-PCITXRL) Shopper Reviews

TRENDnet 32-Bit Gigabit Low Profile PCI Adapter, Retail (TEG-PCITXRL) Shopper ReviewsIts low-cost, it facility, no complaints, no driver disk looked-for with Win7.Not sure why I need more terms, its a very low-cost nic card.
- Brent Williams

I purchased this card, not paying any attention to the item description in point thinking I was ordering the TEG-PCITXR not the TEG-PCITXRL. Disparate the Intel and additional gigabit controllers I have recently purchased, this item did not include the full height sort, but instead was fitted only with the low profile sort. Now with having this fastidious card for a link of months, just figuring I would eat it due to my mix, I emailed TrendNET tech support offering to buy the full height sort. Instead they send me the sort no charge, no questions asked. Now with that all said and done, here is my assesment of the card. This card, whether the full height or low profile version, is a basic single port PCI bus based gigabit NIC using the Realtek RTL8169 chipset. Linux (CentOS 6.3 64 bit) sees it right out of the box and configures the correct module lacking a hitch. Once configured the kernel module / card negotiate gigabit speeds no problem. File transfers both large files, and small are at the expected alacrity range.Windows XP requires the driver from the CD be installed, or better yet, the newest driver from TrendNET be installed. Once installed the driver / card negotiate gigabit speeds no problem. File transfers both large files, and small are at the expected alacrity range.Windows 7 installs a Microsoft driver for this card automagically, once your network parameters are set up, equipment get appealing. The card refuses to auto negotiate gigabit alacrity on the Auto setting. Manually setting alacrity / duplex to 1GB / full fixes the issue, until a reboot and you are back everywhere you started. Installing the driver from the built-in TrendNET CD fixes the problem quickly. Not sure why Microsoft includes a buggy driver, but okay, whatever...This is an exceptional upgrade to older PCs that shipped with onboard 10/100 controllers, and allows me to take full financial support of my gigabit network.

We be inflicted with a number of older SFF PC's with the intention of be inflicted with had on-board NIC failures. This adapter fits perfectly and installs lacking a conundrum, at a extremely skilled price top.
- V. Colling

This is an alright way to upgrade a PC or replace an onboard nic for a basic PCI interface. Would prefer an Intel but cost wise this is a good deal.
- C. Arnold "Multimedia shtick"

It took a bit of tinkering for it to work for my notebook (Dell 760). After it was all setup, it worked great.
- susie cobb

If you are building an internet gateway and you are by Untangle Linux, this card will ensemble your desires. The kernel recognizes it at approximately calculate ago with no driver installation needed. It is only one of two cards planned on their wiki with the intention of will fit in a low profile case. So if with the intention of is what you aspire, this is for you. And you just can't beat the fee. Has been effective flawlessly for a week.
- John T. Feris "Buck Feris"

Put this in a FreeBSD firewall. Works great with no issues and It has been running for about a week.
- marcus fly

No embellishments, no issues, nicely priced strain name, low profile NIC. Go for it! Lone thing I would urge the manufacturer to change is to get on to it all fit in cooperation low profile and fixed PCI slots.
- W. Tahon

Took a few reseats and driver installs to get it to work, but it has taken my LAN speeds from 7-8Mb/s to 70-80Mb/s. HD video streams use to be choppy if at all possible, now they are smooth including no latency!
- solly989

This insatlled fair in WIndows & Pro 32 bit logic. I in detail had to take it out afterwards because the exisitng card was not malfuctioning be fond of I planning so Ican't display how the card will go at a later appointment.

While Manhattan temperatures were in the teens Wednesday night, teen singing sensation Austin Mahone was heating up Bryant Park during the kickoff of PepsiCo's #PEPCITY, a free, three-day celebration of Super Bowl XLVIII.

Fans known as "Mahomies" filled the domed venue. "He's so cute," shouted Laura Kobrinsky, 16, of Port Washington, "and his voice is, like, perfect!"

Mahone got the crowd jumping with his new single, "MMM Yeah," then tugged on the heartstrings during the ballad, "Heart in My Hand."

Rachel Reisman, 14, also of Port Washington, noted that she prefers wholesome Mahone over bad boy Justin Bieber. "Austin is a better influence on teenagers. He's more balanced."

When asked about the Bieber comparison, Mahone, 17, said before the show, "I want people to see that I'm making my own path." He added: "I have a good team around me. My mom is always with me and my best friend. I feel pretty well-rounded."

Mahone denied rumors that he's dating Bieber's old flame Selena Gomez. "It's not true," he said. "We're just friends."

The attractions at #PEPCITY include concerts, chefs whipping up appetizers from PepsiCo products, performances from Broadway musicals and autograph-signing sessions with NFL stars (New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Thursday.) Latin pop star Prince Royce performs Thursday, with reggae's Ziggy Marley set for Saturday, both at 8 p.m. Concerts are free, but require tickets. Go to pepsico.com for more information.

AAPL returns to growth, predict analysts, as we await quarterly earnings call

When Apple reports its quarterly earnings later today, the news will be good, according to the consensus view of 47 Apple analysts compiled by Fortune.

Analysts are expecting the company to report earnings of $58.1B for the final quarter of last year (Apples fiscal quarter 1), representing 4 percent earnings growth over the same quarter last year. This would be right at the top end of Apples guidance of $55-58B, and the first time in a year that Apple would have reported year-on-year growth

Only seven of the 47 analysts buck the trend, suggesting that Apple will again report negative growth, andFortune points out that only two of those pessimistic estimates were made in the last three months.

The roundup follows earlier forecasts that Apples iPhone sales increased 16 percent to 55.3M, iPad sales up 10 percent to 25M and Mac sales up 13 percent to 4.6M.Asymcos Horace Dediu has also suggested that total Apple device sales will equal those of Windows PCs this year though well have to wait a little longer to find out whether he is right.

Well of course be bringing you all the news when Apple reports its numbers. If you want to track how well the individual analysts did,Fortune has everything you need right here.
